Planning a 600-Guest Standard Indian Wedding in San Diego

Planning a grand Indian wedding in San Diego, especially with 600 guests, requires meticulous attention to detail and a clear budget. A typical three-day celebration can range from $148,500 to $297,000. Below, we break down the cost allocations for venue, food, and décor, while also discussing the impact of San Diego's coastal marine layer on logistics and guest comfort.

Cost Breakdown

• Venue (30%): Expect to allocate approximately $44,550 to $89,100 for a venue that can accommodate your guest list comfortably. Venues like Hotel del Coronado are ideal, offering stunning ocean views and ample space for multiple events.
• Food (38%): Catering costs typically make up the largest portion of your budget, costing around $56,030 to $112,860. Consider traditional Indian cuisine to delight your guests, ensuring a range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
• Décor (13%): With around $19,255 to $38,610 allocated for décor, you can create a breathtaking ambiance that reflects Hindu traditions. This may include floral arrangements, mandaps, and lighting that enhance the venue’s beauty.

Impact of Coastal Marine Layer

San Diego’s coastal marine layer can significantly affect wedding logistics and guest comfort. This natural phenomenon often brings cool, foggy mornings followed by sunny afternoons. As a wedding planner, it’s essential to consider this when scheduling outdoor events.

• Timing: Plan outdoor ceremonies or receptions for later in the day when temperatures are more comfortable. The marine layer typically dissipates by noon, making afternoons ideal for celebrations.
• Attire: Advise guests to dress in layers, as morning chill can give way to warmer weather. Providing shawls or wraps can enhance comfort during evening events.

Why Hotel del Coronado Works for 3-Day Celebrations

Choosing a venue like Hotel del Coronado for a three-day wedding celebration offers numerous advantages:

• Accommodations: The hotel provides luxurious lodging for guests, minimizing transportation issues and enhancing overall convenience.
• Versatile Spaces: With multiple event spaces, you can host various ceremonies, receptions, and gatherings without needing to change venues.
